MCP Setup for Claude

This guide walks you through adding the webtranscriber.com MCP server to Claude (desktop app or web app), so that Claude can transcribe audio and video from any URL directly inside your conversations.

1. Add the MCP server as a custom connector

In Claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, click your name in the bottom left corner and then "Settings". Then, navigate to the "Connectors" page.

Here, you will find a button called "Add custom connector". Click it, and then add a custom connector with name webtranscriber and URL https://webtranscriber.com/mcp

2. Authenticate with webtranscriber.com

Now, you'll see webtranscriber in the list of connectors in Claude. Click the "Connect" button. You will be directed to webtranscriber.com to log in and grant access.

3. Verify the setup

Start a new conversation in Claude and ask something like:

Please transcribe this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taeX8tgpPRQ

Claude should call start_transcription , wait for the job to complete, and return the full transcript. You can also check your account page to confirm the transcript appeared there.
